About Resize Image

Resize Image changes the width and height of a picture. Add a JPG, PNG or WebP image, type a new size in pixels or percent, then download the result as JPG, PNG or WebP.

Lock aspect ratio keeps the proportions so the picture is not stretched. Photos taken on a phone open the right way up, and transparent PNG and WebP images stay transparent. If you need to cut out part of a picture, use Crop Image.

Your image never leaves your device: the work happens in your browser, with no upload and no account. It is free and adds no watermark.

How to resize an image

  1. Add a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Type a new width or height in pixels or percent.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image?

Add the image and type a new width or height in pixels or percent. With Lock aspect ratio on, the other side follows so the picture is not stretched. Then download it.

Can I resize by percent?

Yes. Switch the unit to Percent and enter, for example, 50 to make the image half its size.

Does it keep transparency?

Yes for PNG and WebP. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas turn white when you save as JPG.

What about photos that look rotated?

Photos with an EXIF orientation tag open the right way up, and the result is saved the right way up too.

Is there a size limit?

Browsers cap the size of an image they can create. This tool allows up to 16,384 pixels on a side and 100 megapixels in total, and tells you if you go over.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing runs in your browser and the image never leaves your device.
